Here's a project that will perk-up your daily postal pilgrimage. Designed to slip over an existing metal mailbox, this wooden cover will give new life to an otherwise bland mail receptacle. Planter boxes are located on each side of the cover, and there is a built-in holder for your newspaper.
Very little time and material is required for this project. All of the parts can be cut with hand-held tools from standard 3/4-inch thick pine or cedar lumber. Full-size patterns are given for direct tracing to your lumber and illustrations show how all of the parts fit together. Assembly is accomplished with nails and waterproof glue.
