Cabins are small and usually of simple construction. They are most often one-story, but may also be one-and-a-half story or one-story plus a loft. A cabin most often will have a gable roof and could easily be visualized in a rustic setting. A cabin must be distinguished from a cottage. Whereas the cabin might feel like a hunting shed, the cottage would feel like a gingerbread house.
