Patience is a virtue for a reason. Look what it got Dell and Kathy
West of Oxford, Georgia! Their home, plan E-2704, took 13 months to
build because Dell handled the tilework, painting, hardwood flooring
and trim work, but they ended up with an open, airy home with
fabulous front and back views.
The Wests decided to undertake this their first building project
because of the reduced cost and the oppourtunity to control the
materials and construction quality. The money they saved went toward
fixture upgrades, which they list as one of their favorite features.
They chose the single-level elegance of plan E-2704 so that Kathy,
whose knees trouble her, could navigate easily. "We also love
the spacious rooms and the Jacuzzi whirlpool tub," say the Wests.
Dell, a senior engineer with Eaton Corporation in Athens, Georgia,
surprised us by announcing the pending sale of their home! "After
MANY days of thought and discussion, [we] decided to sell the home
for $300,000 in order to use the capital for a smaller home, then
retire before we're fifty."
Their home sold after only three weeks on the market.
