"We wanted to get exactly what we wanted and had to build to
get it," says Steve Kamer about why he and Diane, his wife,
began searching for the perfect home plan. Diane still remembers
what initially drew her to Plan C-8870 when she and Steve
spotted it in a magazine.
"It was a visceral reaction to the way it looked. I thought
it was cute as a button," explains Diane.
As it turned out, the home's floor plan was as appealing as
its exterior. The Kamers particularly love the front porch, the
master suite and the spacious kitchen.
Their new home is tucked into an 18-acre wooded lot in the
foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. An adorable and well-planned
home with a breathtaking view—it seems as though the Kamers have
it all.
"We've been really happy here; we have no intention of moving.
We'd like to stay here until we can't get up the stairs,"
says Diane. "It's not a show house, but a family home. I've
tried to make it look pretty, though Martha Stewart would probably
be shocked. It's not a house—it's our home."
